CD+B built a floating deck over a below-grade garage. We traced and carved each joist to fit over the garage’s irregular surfaced roof. -

Then we framed it in such a way that half of it is removable to allow access for cleaning the garage’s roof. The decking material is Trex and the rails are hog-wire panels in cedar frames. -
A “picture frame” border was installed, which hides the square cut deck boards.
