Floating Deck Remodel
Cherry Design+Build built a floating deck over a below-grade garage. We traced and carved each joist to fit over the garage’s irregular surfaced roof. Then we framed it in such a way that half of it is removable to allow access for cleaning the garage’s roof. A “picture frame” border was installed, which hides the square cut deck boards. The decking material is Trex and the rails are hog-wire panels in cedar frames.
